ARE BLU 3 FREE INDEED?

BLU3’S last album, Burn, was widely acclaimed. Then the unexpected happened — the departure of founding member Cinderella Sanyu a.k.a Cindy, which almost led to the demise of the group.

However, a few months later, a new member, Mya, was recruited. The group will be launching their first album, Be Free, since Cindy’s departure. But the burning question is: has Blu3 consolidated their position as Uganda’s most exciting, original and invigorating girl group?

Be Free is a glorious piece of work. Unlike the group’s previous songs that were produced exclusively by Steve Jean, this one features several producers including Benon of Swangz Avenue, Sweden-based Charlie King, Good Enuff’s Aydee, Moz B and R Kay from Kenya and Fenon Records’ Steve Jean.
The album’s lead track, Together, has great harmonies, good song-writing skills and beautiful melodies. The album launch will feature Akon’s official DJ, Benny D.

Other artistes set to perform include Nameless, Goodlyfe Crew, GNL and Navio as well as the winner of the 2008 Pilsner Spin Master Campaign in Uganda, DJ Ricky.
