KENYAN ARTISTS GO OFF-KEY DURING PROMULGATION

If you did not watch the promulgation of the new constitution, thank your lucky stars because you missed the audio torture that was the performance by an ensemble of local musicians.

Some of our biggest names in music were at Uhuru Park to perform a song for this auspicious occasion. The song "Oh Kenya, My Kenya", written by Achieng' Abura and performed by Jua Cali, Nameless, Amani, Juma Odemba, Eric Wainaina, Suzzanne Owiyo and Victor Seii was nothing but one big embarrassment. You thought Project Fame auditions were bad, you should have listened to this group.

But all was not lost, one Emmy Kosgei did a splendid job with her hit Taunet Nelel and also Eric Wainaina repped with his ever green song "Kenya Only."
Let's just hope that in the constitution, horrid songs and performances will be a thing of the past or pray to God, the ever smiling 'I-didn't-do-it' AG Amos Wako sneaks in a line or two about rights of music listeners
