SYSTEM UNIT: GOSPEL UNIT TAKING NAIROBI BY STORM

The mention of gospel units in Nairobi takes us back to the times of JC's Groove held down by Mo' Sound Kru (DJ Kev & DJ Josh) and Kubamba held by (K-Krew). Right now the units are so immense you dont know which one to choose: Spinrej, Badilika, Samehewa just to mention but a few. Mombasa has also had its own share of groups with the likes of Silaha Family, SPAN Sita and now emerging group Vatican DJ's.

With the Makmende hype over, comes another viral spread calling themselves System Unit, founded by 5 guys. A unit made up of 2 DJ's, a hype man, an artist and a manager.

According to hype man, Alemba, mixing all the talents is an advantage to them. "I have released a new hit single produced by Underdawg Records called Praise Him and soon am releasing another collabo of the year called System Anthem featuring DJ Sadic,DK, Hey-Z, Ngashville, Dunco, Jimmygait and I the memba. Then later this year I will be launching my album."

Alemba, who won a Chaguo La Teeniez Award for the song Pagez Za Bible which he features Juliani and DJ Sadic but failed to win a Groove Award doesnt cry foul about not winning in the christian circle. "No. I believe everything worketh for good to them that trust upon the Lord and am waiting for His will to be done and one thing I believe being nominated for the Groove awards shows you are good and we are all winners.."

Alemba who also doubles up as the outreach and events manager says Sytem Unit has alot in store in the future. "We have alot of suprises in store for the gospel fans n guyz but currently we are running the Replay show that goes down every friday from 6pm to 9:30pm and on saturday from 8pm to 11pm on truth fm 90.7.. we also running the Sound Show on Capital fm 98.4 that goes down on sunday from 6am to 10 am and also we doing crossover 101 on NTV that runs from 11am to 1pm."
